Eastland High School Beta Club
General Information
Beta Club is a national academic honorary society which promotes and rewards excellence in scholarship and leadership. In order to be eligible for Eastland High School’s Chapter of Beta Club and be inducted into membership as a sophomore or junior, a student must have an overall cumulative average of at least 93 for the previous calendar year. Students transferring in must also bring a cumulative average of at least 93 from their previous school. To maintain membership, a student must maintain an overall cumulative average of 90. Eastland High School conducts an induction ceremony each fall.
Beta Club participates in community service projects, which in past years have included the following activities: Souper Bowl of Caring food drive, Salvation Army bell ringers, food pantry donations, after game gym clean-ups, and seat belt safety awareness week.
The National Beta Club’s purpose is to promote the ideals of character, service, and leadership; to reward meritorious achievement; and to encourage and assist students in continuing their education after high school.
