Attention Mavericks:
The purpose of this notice is in regards to junior varsity and varsity Maverick Football. Due to the number of COVID 19 diagnoses, as well as the number of student athletes who are out with COVID 19 symptoms, Eastland ISD has determined it is in the best interest of all parties involved to cancel the junior varsity as well as the varsity football games scheduled for September 17th and 18th. Middle School football games will go on as scheduled.
This is not a decision taken lightly but one I do believe is correct given the current circumstances. I appreciate your support and understanding.

**Changes to spectator attendance at all Eastland ISD extracurricular events**
9-4-2020
EISD has been informed by our local health officials that the number of active cases of Covid-19 has exceeded twenty cases in Eastland County; Eastland ISD is now required to adhere fully to Executive Order GA-29 in accordance with U.I.L. guidelines. In addition to social distancing...
*All employees, parents, visitors and students ten years of age or older must wear face coverings or face shields upon entry to an area where UIL activities are being conducted and when not actively practicing or playing in the contest.
We are lucky to have the opportunity to continue with UIL sports and activities given the current state of things. UIL has made it clear that an outbreak in the stands could prove just as detrimental as one in the locker room.
We respectfully ask that all our Maverick fans help us adhere to the U.I.L. protocols so that our students get to keep competing in the games they love.

Go Mavs - James Morton
Regarding Stadium capacity at Maverick Stadium:
As many of you know, one of the covid 19 safety precautions is limited spectator capacity at all UIL events. During regular competitions limited tickets will be purchased, in advance, in an effort to assist us in meeting the capacity expectations. However, we do have several scrimmages scheduled, in all areas of competition, in which the same restrictions are in place but we will not be selling tickets. We ask if your child is not competing please allow for family member(s) of the student athletes to have priority attendance.
At our home scrimmages administrators will be monitoring capacity. We are limited to every other row and 6 feet between family groups. Please comply with the request made by the staff in an effort to meet the guidelines. UIL has made it clear, failure to comply with the guidelines could result in cancellation of home games or cancelation of a season.
Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

Unfortunately, this year there will not be a “Meet the Teacher” as we traditionally have had.

participate at 5:00 or 5:20 using the same link. We are encouraging parents to join with their

Parents,
As we look forward to starting a new school year, I would like to thank you for your support and
understanding over the past five months. This school year is going to be great, and the teachers
are looking forward to having students back in the classrooms of Siebert Elementary. I am

Thursday August 20th - 4th & 2nd grade ONLY (full school day with normal drop off)
Friday August 21st - PreK/HeadStart/EE, Kindergarten, and 1st Grade ONLY
Our little ones will be walked by their parents to class to meet their teacher and see their
classroom. All individuals entering the building will participate in temperature checks. Times
will be staggered to keep a limited number of parents in the building at one time. The schedule
is as follows and is based off the first letter of the student’s LAST name:
A - F 8:00 - 9:00
G - M 9:00 - 10:00
N - S 10:00 - 11:00
T - Z 12:00 - 1:00
On Friday, August 21 st , after the students meet their teacher and have time to see their classroom,
they will leave with their parents.
Students participating in online instruction will follow the same staggered start schedule as
above and will be meeting with their teachers virtually on their designated days.
On Monday, August 24 th , all face-to-face instruction students will come to school and normal
drop off will take place in the front. Online students will begin their full daily schedules virtually
as well.

Information on Lunches:
As we follow TEA guidelines and to keep students safe during lunch, we have rearranged how
we are doing our lunches and lunchroom. To continue to minimize exposure and to keep that
number low, we have our cafeteria tables spread out over the cafeteria and small gym (3rd, 4th,
& 5th). For the 1st Six Weeks, through September 25th, the following will apply :
● One grade level will be in the cafeteria or small gym at a time.
● No food deliveries during the day. Students will need to bring their lunch or get lunch in
the cafeteria.
● No visitors for lunches. All tables and chairs will be used for students to safely eat.
Again, this is through September 25th and will be reevaluated after we have had an
opportunity to see what the process will look like and help students establish a routine.
● If you wish to eat lunch with your student for special occasions, please check out your
student for lunch.
Other information:
● Delivering birthday cupcakes and outside food will not be permitted at this time.
● Campus visitors will be limited. Visitors will be expected to complete the required health
screening. Visitors who are screened and proceed beyond the reception area will follow
specific guidelines for visitors.
● Parents will drop students off or say goodbye at the door.
● Refer back to the Eastland ISD Back to School Safety Procedures that were posted a
couple of weeks ago.
● Call or email myself or Mrs. Johnson with any questions or concerns.

Last thoughts:
The start to this school year is unusual and far from traditional. We, just like you, wish that
everything was back to “normal” and we were having our traditional Meet the Teacher and
business as usual, but know that all decisions are made with your child’s best interest at heart. By
following the guidelines set forth by TEA, we hope to keep the doors of Siebert open throughout
the entire school year. I know there will be points of frustration, and I ask that you reach out to
me at any time, but I believe what we have put together, in coordination with parents, teachers,
and community members, gives our students a great opportunity at being successful back in a
safe learning environment that meets the guidelines set forth by TEA. You are ready, we are
ready, and more importantly our students are ready to be back to school, and we are looking
forward to an unusual but phenomenal back to school.
Thank you and God bless,
Brandon Chesser
