The Eastland High School Band had 20 students participate in UIL Solo and Ensemble in Stephenville. Students prepare solos and ensembles to receive ratings at the region level. Most of this preparation is done outside of class time. Special thanks to Cody Hutcheson for being our accompanist for our students.
There are different classifications of solos from 1 to 3. Class 1 solos have to be memorized or on a specific list that is no memory required. Class 1 solos are usually collegiate-level solos. Class 1 solos and ensembles can advance to state solo and ensemble in May. Class 2 and 3 solos cannot advance, but still have their growth and technique for each student to work on.
We are very proud of all the students who represented Eastland very well with their musicianship and maturity.
